Palaszczuk Budget doesn’t deliver local road safety

The Palaszczuk Government’s rivers of gold have failed to deliver road safety improvements in the Moreton Bay hinterland.

Treasurer Dick has pocketed an extra $60 billion more than forecast in his first Budget less than three years ago, but our region has nothing to show for it.

Member for Glass House, Andrew Powell MP, has hit out at the Premier, saying that “Queenslanders know they can’t trust the Palaszczuk Labor Government.”

“They haven’t been listening to Queenslanders and they can’t deliver the solutions we need.”

“This Budget does not allocate a single dollar, over the next five years, to intersection improvements on the D’Aguilar Highway at Campbells Pocket Road or Mt Mee Road.”

“It does not allocate a single dollar, over the next five years, to Mt Mee Road at Ocean View.”

“Queenslanders can’t trust the Palaszczuk Labor Government to deliver the road safety solutions we need because they are in a constant state of chaos and crisis.”

“After the rivers of gold dry up, our region will have nothing to show but the highest debt in our State’s history, the highest taxes and failing front-line services.”

“This Budget fails to deliver the long-term solutions Queenslanders are demanding and deserve,” concluded Mr Powell.
