After many years of delay, we can finally see the review of the SEQ Regional Plan progressing which is wonderful news for many people in Glass House.
Close to 100 families have made contact with my office over the years desperately wanting this review to happen so they can plan for their future. In an effort to assist people navigate their way through the review process, I invited Ian Walker MP, Shadow Minister for Planning, to the Glass House electorate last Friday and hosted a community forum.
The meeting was well attended by around 50 people who all have an interest in the review and have many ideas to share around how they feel it should proceed.
Topics discussed included the: Urban Footprint; growth areas such as Caboolture West, Beerwah East and Halls Creek; the old family subdivision rule and keeping our agricultural land viable and productive; and, potentially allowing councils greater discretion in what can and can’t be approved in terms of development.
Ian advised residents wishing to make a submission to do so via email to the Minister for Planning – firstname.lastname@example.org with a copy to my own office email@example.com and also your local Councillor.
If you wish to be included in any updates on the progress of the review, please send an email to my office and we can ensure you are kept in the loop.
