Most of last week was taken up with Parliamentary duties as we saw the official opening of the 55th Queensland Parliament.
In amongst the week in Brisbane, locally I did attend the Maleny Golf Club AGM, the Caboolture Twilight Festival, the Elimbah Meteors Junior Auskick presentation and the Maleny Swimming Pool AGM and annual presentation.
I did get to attend one of my most favourite events of the year being the MDSRC annual sportsman dinner on Saturday night at Tranquil Park Resort. I’ve likened it to Maleny’s answer to the Logies…it really is a great night and so much effort goes into pulling it off. Congratulations to everyone who took home awards, in particular Peter Jensen who accepted the Club of the Year Award for the Maleny Blackall Range Lions Club.
I also attended the following local events –
•The Woodford Swimming Pool annual break up party
•The 30th anniversary celebration of the Caboolture Historical Village’s Pioneer Museum
•Met with students at St Eugene’s Catholic College to discuss their studies
•Attended the opening of the Maroochydore Big Top Marketplace where I got to see our very own SunRay strawberries for sale!
•Celebrated the opening of the new Glasshouse Bistro in Montville
•Played a round of golf with the fellas at the Maleny Golf Club to celebrate them finally becoming a golf course at long last!
