No politician can ever underestimate the power of a united community voice – the feedback that my office have been compiling on your views on the need for traffic signals at the Steve Irwin Way and Reed Street intersection at Glass House Mountains has been overwhelming. In my nearly six years as the MP for this region, I have been very clear that delivering this project was in my top five priorities for the electorate. I have not stopped lobbying the Minister for Transport and Main Roads on how much we need this project delivered, but now that I have feedback directly from the community, we will be able to present a very strong case to the Minister. Some of you would remember I brought the Minister to the electorate only a few months ago and after seeing for himself how desperately we need this intersection upgrade, he promised to do what he could to schedule this project in his future works program. Now with the many letters and emails we have received we can demonstrate how strongly our community will fight to get a positive outcome to ensure the long term safety of our community.
