Member for Glass House, Andrew Powell MP, is pleased to announce nominations have opened for the fifth annual Glass House Volunteer Awards.
Mr Powell will again be hosting his annual ceremony with morning tea to publicly recognise the efforts of our invaluable volunteers throughout the Glass House community.
“Volunteers really do keep our community ticking and their support for community groups and the disadvantaged in our society is truly invaluable.
“Many of our great volunteers go unnoticed for the work that they do but this is the community’s chance to change that. If you know someone in your community that deserves recognition I encourage you to nominate them,” Mr Powell said.
The ceremony will be held to coincide with National Volunteer Week which is this year being celebrated from 12 to 18 May.
“The purpose of National Volunteer Week is so that communities can publicly celebrate and extend thanks to our volunteers for their ongoing involvement.
“Over 250 Glass House community groups have again been invited to submit a nomination to my award ceremony and I look forward celebrating with them again this year in recognition of the great work that they do.”
Nominations close on Friday 11 April. Forms can be obtained from Mr Powell’s website www.andrewpowell.com.au or by calling the office on 5435 2013.
