Glass House residents urged to nominate an Inspiring Woman

I am pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the Speaker’s Queensland Inspiring Women Awards. The awards are held to celebrate International Women’s Day and the theme of this year’s awards is Women of Generosity.

I’m sure we all know women who work tirelessly in our community and these awards are a great opportunity to publicly recognise and honour these inspirational women.  A breakfast ceremony honouring the winners, chosen from all over Queensland, will be held in Parliament House on 7 March 2014.

Last year I was pleased to be able to host Montville resident Wendy Hill at the 2013 Inspiring Women Breakfast. Wendy is a true inspiration to our community and volunteers her time for others all over the Maleny and Montville community.

I would encourage everyone to take the time to recognise these women and nominate them.  Nominations close on Friday 7 February. I will then select one inspiring woman from the community nominations to join me at the awards breakfast. Please see the attached nomination form or call into my office for a copy.
