This week started with a bang with the official launch of the LNP campaign last Sunday in Brisbane. The turn out of party supporters was excellent and they were all so impressed to see our Leader, Campbell Newman, deliver plenty of new LNP policies. All of these have now been posted on www.lnp.org.au and I would urge you to take a look.
On Monday I ventured up to Mackay to visit with local Canegrowers and also had a tour of the Mackay Sugar Mill. LNP Candidate John Kerslake is certainly enthusiastic and it was great to spend the day touring the Mackay electorate.
On Tuesday I was able to spend some much needed time in the office catching up on paperwork and meeting with constituents. I was also invited along to the Palmwoods State School Leadership ceremony which was a real thrill. Meeting with our kids, who truly are the future leaders of our great state, is always a highlight for me.
I met with several people from the Sandgate electorate on Wednesday catching up on some of their local environment issues. I am pictured with LNP Candidate for Sandgate, Kerry Millard, who will be a really great representative for this area.
The working week ended with many more appointments in the electorate and aslo a trip down to Glasshouse Mountains to visit some of the local business owners. I arranged to meet up with GMAN President Cliff Schnick to give him and his community group some information on the newly announced LNP policy ‘Everyone’s Environment – Cleaning up our Backyard’.
My weekend was spent visiting local markets at Wamuran and Montville, cheering my kids on at their soccer games (they play for Palmwoods) and also at the Blackall Range Woodcrafters Guild Open Day.
