Just before their graduation from primary school, I was invited to visit the Year 7 students to have a chat about Parliament and life as a politician. Let me tell you – these kids certainly know how to ask the tough questions! The students have been learning all about Government this year and judging by some of their questions they have really enjoyed it and I even think we could have a few budding politicians in the making. Whilst at the school and to recognise 2011 National Threatened Species Day I took the opportunity to present the students with a birdwing butterfly vine. This vine is particularly important to the endangered Richmond Birdwing Butterfly as it’s larvae only eats leaves from this one vine. Thank you to the school for accepting this donation – I have no doubt it will be well looked after.
