My latest update from the Department of Transport and Main Roads is that works to repair Peachester Road will commence before Christmas. Unfortunately this is the best indication I have been given. The Department acknowledges the inconvenience the lane closures are causing residents. Cold comfort I know. A project page has been created on the Department’s website which will aim to update residents so make sure you have a look to get any new updates – www.tmr.qld.gov.au/projects/name/p.aspx.
I am also advised that asphalt overlay works will be undertaken on a section of Kilcoy-Beerwah Road, between Commissioner’s Flat Road and Maleny-Stanley River Road from Monday 27 June weather permitting. This work will take until the end of the year and will result in lane closures and reduced speed limits. Motorists may experience delays of up to ten minutes in this area.
