Glass House lifestyle protected by the LNP
The lifestyle we love in the Glass House electorate will be protected under an LNP Government, with holistic development, infrastructure, environment and economic plans to be created for the Sunshine Coast.
Member for Glass House, Andrew Powell MP, and his LNP colleagues have launched A Liveable Sunshine Coast, the LNP’s Policy for protecting the region’s unique characteristics.
“This policy is the starting point for planning the Sunshine Coast’s future,” Mr Powell said.
“The Coast has always been a great place to live and the LNP wants to ensure that it stays that way.
“We need proper infrastructure that links Coast communities, we need to protect our catchments and the Pumicestone Passage and we need to ensure there are more jobs and economic opportunities created locally.
Mr Powell said under an LNP Government Ministerial call-ins will only be used in exceptional circumstances.
“This long-term Labor Government’s decision to go against the wishes of many Coast residents and the Council with the Caloundra South development shows how out of touch this government is,” Mr Powell continued.
“We will restore transparency and integrity to the planning process and ensure Sunshine Coast residents have a real say in shaping this region.
“Residents of the Glass House electorate know the Coast is a special place to live, work and play.
“The LNP is committed to this region and ensuring growth does not change the very things that brought us all here in the first place,” Mr Powell concluded.
