From day one in the job, Member for Glass House, Andrew Powell, committed to holding mobile offices throughout the electorate so that residents could easily access him when they needed assistance.
Having just completed his latest round of mobile offices in Flaxton, Eudlo, Palmwoods, Glass House Mountains and Beerwah, Mr Powell remains as committed as ever to make himself available to the people of Glass House.
“A mobile office is such a great way for me to connect with locals in a relaxed fashion, in an area close to their home and at a time when most people are on their way to or from work,” Mr Powell said.
Mr Powell held a mobile office in Beerwah this morning from 7am to 8.30am and had lots of waves and toots as people went by. Cr Anna Grosskreutz even dropped by to meet with the locals who called in.
“It is great to have the support of the local councillors and I thank Cr Anna for giving up her time. Cr Jenny McKay and Cr Adrian Raedel from the Moreton Bay Regional Council also do their best to drop by when my mobile office is in their patch.”
“I made a promise very early on that I would always be approachable and available for constituents and I will certainly continue to do this while I am the local member.”
Mr Powell’s mobile offices will take break for a few months as the busyness of the Christmas/New Year period takes hold, but he will re-commence early in 2011.
“Keep checking my website, www.andrewpowell.com.au for locations and dates in 2011, but in the meantime if I can help anyone with a state matter, please don’t hesitate to make contact with the office.” Mr Powell concluded.
